West
Side Nut Club Trophy Game
The West Side Nut Club Trophy goes to the winner of the annual
football game between Mater Dei High School and Francis Joseph Reitz High
School.
The two west side Evansville schools have played for the trophy every year
since 1970, but the rivalry began in 1952, a few years after Mater Dei opened.
The trophy is named after the West Side Nut Club, a social organization that
serves the needs of the West Side of Evansville and beyond.
Every game has been played at Reitz Bowl, which is located on the campus of
Reitz High School. Both schools use the stadium for their home games.
Reitz leads 28 games to 14.
